In my current work I have been involved with what I call spirit bodies and an array of symbols or visual fascinations that deal with the spiritual struggle. The images range from mammals of power to people in desperate expression trying to convey bewilderment in captive and transcendental moments. I find a relation with minimal symbols such as circles and triangles as well as mandalas and yantras. In many pieces I work from a circle to connect the architecture of this primordial image to our spiritual functions. The result hopes to achieve a meditative form both routed in simplicity and chaos providing a spiritual map and ontological insight.

When creating mandalas in artworks I seem to be working to find the correct posture or formula for completeness. I work from a very imaginative world depicted by intricate sensitive drawing constructs that map a fluidity and connectivity in dreamscapes. The characters and concepts used come from various conscious influences such as russian literature, philosophical standards, and eastern ideas. I am particularly impressed by worlds created in literature such as by Burgokov which depict a perfect fantasy of mythological archetypes, modern struggles, and personal conflicts and safeties all in harmony. This is what I hope to achieve in my drawing worlds. Many of my works are well researched through a meticulous process in order to gain associations between language and visual concepts. A finished piece could describe a battle or love scene between the intellectual discourse of idea as found in writing and the innate artistic desire to channel a visceral beauty.

In my aesthetic process I attempt to convey meditations or natural energies through neurotic detail and disciplined line work. In doing so, I find it necessary for myself to find some sort of meditated state through a repetition in drawing or paint strokes. I source my images from various vintage photographs, internet searches, personal objects, my subconscious, and classical Indian paintings. I typically begin with a more sensitive approach with tools such as graphite to start the work and evolve into a more chaotic and aleatoric paint process using various mediums. The result leaves a charged and manic spectacle in balanced compositional harmony and calm sensitivity
