rest - Original Pen on Paper Drawing (59.4 cm x 42 cm)

This is a pen drawing of one of the many benches dotted along the south west coast path. Nestled among the flowers and ferns, beneath the cool shade of the many trees, this wooden bench is a welcomed sight for many a weary walker. As you sit on this bench, the view looking out to sea on a bright summers day is spectacular.

Using simple crosshatching techniques and making the best of negative space, I hope I have captured the overwhelming feeling of 'rest' as you approach the bench. This feeling is further accentuated by the scale of the drawing - it is drawn on an A2 size paper which is 420 mm tall and 594 mm wide.

It will be shipped unframed, and carefully packaged in a sturdy artist tube.
